House Expectations

House Meetings

Weekly opportunity for house manager to check in with residents/ determine if house expectations and requirements are being fulfilled.

House meetings are Sunday’s and are mandatory.

Wake up/ Curfew

8 am Mon-Fri

10 am Sat-Sun/

10 pm curfew (first 30 days)

12pm curfew (if approved after 30 days of being a member)

Drug Testing

Minimum 1 time per week

Random testing weekly/ as needed or due to suspicion

Lab testing if needed to confirm any positive house tests, or disputes

Recovery Hours

Residents are required to obtain a minimum of 10 recovery hours per week. Hours are logged by members and presented to house manager at house meeting for review.

Examples of Recovery Hours:

Meeting with sponsor, Step work, attending recovery meetings, individual sessions with their house coach, attending a group fitness class at the YMCA, attending house meeting, etc.

Overnight Passes

No Overnight passes (First 30 days)

1 overnight pass per week (48 hr request required)

Any overnights exceeding 1 night are approved on a case by case basis. (How is the member showing up, purpose of request, etc.)

Employment

Members are expected to find a job in the first 30 days. As long as effort is being shown in this area, extensions on this timeline will be determined by staff.

If needed, ARH Staff will provide resources for businesses who have a history of hiring individuals in recovery or who might have a record that makes employment difficult to obtain.

Chores

All residents are given a weekly chore to do on Sundays and are expected to maintain their chore area throughout the week. Chores are assigned by house manager weekly.

 

Sponsorship

All members are expected to obtain and utilize a recovery sponsor while living in our homes. A sponsor is a person who walks an individual through the 12 steps (or other approved path of recovery) and provides support while getting and staying sober.

House manager has authority to reach out to members sponsor to confirm progress is being made in their path of recovery if resident is not fulfilling house requirements.

Clean Living

Members are expected to keep their rooms clean and orderly and to maintain good personal hygiene.

This includes:

Making bed upon awakening, Keeping clothing organized and out of view, washing sheets and cloths on a regular basis, etc.

Extra storage space (Limited per resident)

2 fridges/ 3 freezers per Unit

Large back yards which are joined together

Plenty of parking for resident’s vehicle

Sheets/ Towels Provided

Exterior video survelance

Gas grills for cooking per unit

5-minute walk to city transit/ bus stop

15 minute drive to downtown Austin

Large Flat Screens + Roku access

High speed internet/ wifi
